Phillies Battle Brewers Looking To Snap Seven-Game Losing Skid

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Phillies are is desperate need of a win.

Pete Mackanin's team has lost seven in a row, scoring a grand total of 12 runs during the losing streak. They will look to turn things around tonight as they continue their series with the Milwaukee Brewers at Citizens Bank Park.

Last night the Phillies lost to Milwaukee, 4-1. Jerad Eickhoff took the loss to fall to 2-8, but he pitched pretty well, allowing just two runs in 6 2/3 innings. Maikel Franco hit a solo home run for the only tally for the Phils.

Tonight it will be right-hander Vince Velasquez getting the start for the Phillies. He is 5-2 with a 3.63 ERA. He's struggled his last couple of starts, allowing 10 earned runs in just 8 2/3 innings.

The Brewers counter with right-hander Jimmy Nelson who is 5-3 with a 2.88 ERA.
