Soul Look For Bounce Back Performance Saturday In Jacksonville

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Philadelphia Soul were on a roll, they had won six games in a row and were coming off very impressive wins over Arizona and Orlando.

Then they went to Cleveland.

Philadelphia tasted defeat for just the second time in nine games this season, losing to the Gladiators this past Saturday, 63-49.

"It's probably the worst game I've seen us ever play," Soul head coach Clint Dolezel tells KYW Newsradio. "I know we only got beat by two scores and we've had worse losses, but top to bottom from coaching staff down to the players, we just didn't come out and play, coach, it was just a bad, bad nightmare. It was very frustrating. Lot of things that we learned from watching the film and correcting and hopefully we've gotten that behind us and we won't make those mistakes again."

Next up for the now 7-2 Soul, a visit to Jacksonville to play the Sharks this coming Saturday night.

This will be the second time these teams will meet this season. Jacksonville won the first back on April 11th, 59-41 at the Center.

The Sharks are 4-4 and they have won two straight. They have a phenomenal talent at wide receiver in Joe Hills. He caught four touchdowns in that first win over the Soul, and last week in a win over Orlando he caught eight touchdowns, one shy of the AFL single-game record.

"He's basically Lebron James right now in this league," Dolezel says. "They're letting him do whatever he wants and he's making it happen. Obviously last week with eight touchdowns, he's a monster down there."

All eight of those touchdowns were thrown by Jacksonville quarterback Tommy Grady.

"Grady is one of the best in the league," Dolezel says.

Dolezel talks about what his offense needs to do to get back on track on Saturday.

"We've just got to do a better job of taking care of the football," Dolezel says. "Take what they give us. If they give us the home run, take it, if not than we've got to take our check downs and get down in the red zone."

The Soul and the Sharks will kickoff at 7:00pm on Saturday.
