Double Shooting Victims Drive Themselves To Hospital, Man Listed In Critical Condition

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia Police are investigating a double-shooting that took place on Monday afternoon. According to police, the incident took place just before 6:00 p.m. and left a man in critical condition.

Police responded to the 1400 block of Blavis Street following a report of numerous gunshots.

No victims were found at the scene and police were later notified that the two shooting victims drove themselves to Temple University Hospital.

Officials say a 30-year-old man was shot once in the chest and was listed in critical condition. A 28-year-old was shot in the shoulder and suffered a graze wound. He was listed in stable condition.

Authorities say the two men were operating a tow truck, with the 30-year-old as the operator and the 28-year-old as the passenger. They say that the bullets, that struck the men, entered from both sides of the truck.

Police say that the description of one of the suspects is a man that is known to the victims. He was last seen operating a Saturn Ion and wearing dark clothing, according to police.

A motive is not known at this time and police discovered that several nearby businesses did have surveillance cameras.
