Police Investigate After Child Struck In West Philadelphia Hit And Run

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia Police are investigating a hit-and-run that took place in West Philadelphia on Wednesday night. The incident took place near 33rd Street and Powelton Street.

According to police, a child was struck by an older model red minivan. Officials say the van was being driven by a black female.

Police say it occurred around 8:14 p.m.

The vehicle was last seen heading north on 35th Street from Baring Street.

Police have not released information on the condition of the child, but say that the injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
