A Wallpaper Resurgence Allows Homeowners To Add Memories To Their Walls

By Vittoria Woodill

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- An old decorating technique is having a resurgence. Wallpaper is back, but this is not your grandmother's wallpaper.

This is a modern spin on the old-fashioned concept. One could say, you are really going to fall in love with your walls.

Wallpaper used to be that sticky stuff that took forever, but not anymore. There's a company and one doctor making walls "Wallsome," and it's as easy as a Post-it.

One photo can say 1,000 words so imagine what one photo could say if it was as big as a wall in your home.

"Whether it's City Hall. whether it's showing New York and the taxis, whether it's showing Paris and the Eiffel Tower, a cool image of a landscape, it's one big mural that you can put up in your home and it will totally change the wall," said Dr. Keith Leaphart.

Dr. Leaphart has diagnosed walls as having unused potential and has a remedy for making re-decorating easy. "I always describe it as a Post-it on steroids," Leaphart said. "You can put it up, take it down. It's crinkle resistant, bubble resistant, removable, reusable.

"When you buy your home, or you're moving to an apartment, you want to make it feel like yours," said Leaphart. "What better way to do that than with memories right?"

Whether it's that family photo of yours, or you're a local artist with an eye for spotting picture perfect moments, they want to mural your memory.

"We can do something as little as a 24X48, which is a standard size, to a full wall," said Leaphart. They make it as easy as 1-2-3.

Consider all of those fights between the Mr. and Mrs. over wallpaper, taking it up and down, gone because of how easy it is to pull this off and then re-stick it.
