Carson Wentz: Sam Bradford Situation Is 'Not For My Speculation'

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- This week's soap opera surrounding the Philadelphia Eagles is Sam Bradford's decision to ask for a trade.

This news comes just days after the Eagles traded up to pick No. 2 in Thursday's NFL Draft, with all signs pointing to North Dakota State quarterback Carson Wentz coming to Philly.

Wentz spoke at O'Hare international airport in Chicago, home of the 2016 NFL Draft.

"Yeah, I don't really know how that will all play out," Wentz said of the Bradford situation. "That's not for my speculation, so we'll see what happens."

The Eagles' brass of owner Jeffrey Lurie, vice president of personnel Howie Roseman, and new head coach Doug Pederson met with Wentz more than any other prospect. They even took Wentz to a popular North Dakota steakhouse.

"They just seemed like a bunch of great guys," Wentz said of the Eagles' leadership. "Obviously you can tell they've got a bunch of former quarterbacks and that would always be beneficial, but I thought that they were just a bunch of great guys that loved football."

Wentz, despite limited experience at a FCS program, has the confidence of a future NFL franchise quarterback.

"I think I've shown that I'm a winner," Wentz said. "I show a lot of intangibles that people might not see. I think my physically abilities speak for themselves, but I think I do a lot of things behind the scenes as far as my leadership and my intelligence. I can really make myself a great quarterback going forward."
