Gov. Kasich Meets Voters At South Philadelphia Diner

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Ohio Governor John Kasich set the table for a media mob during a stop at a South Philadelphia diner for breakfast on Monday.
It was a crowded affair as reporters and camera crews descended on John Kasich as he walked into the Penrose Diner.
But before answering any questions, Kasich insisted on greeting people at the tables and then sitting down for breakfast himself. After ordering, Kasich was bombarded by questions about his new alliance with Sen. Ted Cruz to slow Donald Trump.
Kasich insisted it really came down to better use of campaign dollars.
"My team met with the Cruz people and they made a recommendation to me. I said I think it's fair because you know, in some places we haven't spent a lot of resources. I didn't spend resources in the state of Wisconsin - a minor amount of spending. I don't have, you know, like Daddy Warbucks behind me giving me all this money."
Kasich agreed to stay out of Indiana and Cruz will stay out of New Mexico and Oregon.
Kasich, who has only won his home state in the primary season, says he's optimistic about Tuesday's primaries, including what he projects should be a strong showing in Pennsylvania.
