Clinton, Sanders Discuss Issues With KYW Newsradio Ahead Of Pennsylvania Primary
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Voters across Pennsylvania will head to the polls on Tuesday to cast their ballots in a number of races -- none bigger than the Presidential primary.
On the eve of the election, both Democratic candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders spoke to KYW Newsradio about some of the issues that are most important to them.
A top priority for Clinton is gun violence.
"We are going to do more to end the epidemic of gun killings," Clinton said, "and the kind of gun culture that promotes those killings where people use guns to solve whatever problem they think they're having."
She says working together on the issue is a must.
"You have a series of terrible killings in Philadelphia, we have to tackle that together," Clinton said. "This is not a Democratic or Republican issue, this is a public safety issue."

For his part, Sanders says he working to help solve the problem of gun violence.
"I am working with President Obama, right now, to expand the instant background check," Sanders said, "and to do away with the gun show loophole."

And Sanders says he's been concentrating on issues affecting the middle class.
"Our major job is to rebuild a disappearing middle class," he said. "It is to demand that people who have the money in this country start paying their fair share of taxes."
Hillary Clinton agrees, but with an additional promise.
"I am the only candidate who has said I will not raise taxes on the middle class," she said.
Both candidates also spoke about the new alliance created between Republican hopefuls John Kasich and Ted Cruz, a tactic devised to defeat Donald Trump.
"It is not that important," Clinton said, "because they all have the same views, they may express them differently."
And Sanders believes it won't really matter.
"In poll after poll, we are defeating Donald Trump nationally," Sanders said.
