Man Severely Injured In Hit-And-Run In West Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police are investigating a hit-and-run overnight that severely injured a man in West Philadelphia.
It happened around 3:30 a.m. Saturday near 4th and Market Streets.
Police say officers discovered a 26-year-old man lying on the side of the road with severe head injuries. A bicycle with heavy damage was found near the victim.
The man was taken to Presbyterian Hospital in extremely critical condition.
Authorities initially thought the man had been assaulted, but doctors determined he had been struck by a vehicle.
Investigators say there was no physical evidence at the scene to help identify the striking vehicle.
