Food Truck Review: No. 25

T & N HOMEMADE KITCHEN

That's not exactly a snappy name, right? So they painted the word "Jeet?" on the side of the truck (as in, "Hey, jeet yet?") and it seems most people know this traveling truck as the "Jeet Mobile."

Call it whatever you like, we were disappointed when we found the red-white-and-green truck in Williamstown, N.J. The Cubano Sandwich was a creative menu item – a mix of Italian pulled pork, prosciutto, provolone, pickles and mustard on toasted panini bread. And the price, $5, was more than fair. Fine idea, but poor execution. The prosciutto was all wedged into one small corner of the sandwich, the bread was overtoasted and the basic yellow mustard slathered on the outside of our Cubano.

Worst was the $4 cheesesteak eggroll. Tough and oily with the steak cooked into oblivion. Mostly, it just tasted like a bad eggroll wrapper.

We've had a few followers of the Food Truck Frenzy pass along positive recommendations of the Jeet Mobile. But on this night, we could barely jeet what they served us.

Score: 54/100
