Philadelphia Man Found Dead In Megabus Bathroom During Trip
PATTON TOWNSHIP, Pa, (CBS) -- Patton Township Police announced that a 30-year-old man was found dead in the bathroom of a Megabus traveling from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh. Officials say the man was found in the bathroom by the driver of the bus and detectives located a needle next to the man.
Officials say it is too early to tell if drugs were the cause of death.
According to police, authorities responded to calls around 12:40 p.m. on Thursday. They say passengers witnessed the man enter the bathroom somewhere between Harrisburg and Mifflin Township.
Officials say passengers noticed the man was locked in the bathroom for more than an hour and passengers that needed to use the bathroom informed the driver.
The driver then made a pick-up stop and forced entry into the bathroom, where he found the man unresponsive. He then notified authorities.
Megabus released a statement saying, "We are aware of the events. Megabus is fully cooperating with police. Our passengers were safely transferred on to another bus which is about to arrive at its destination in Pittsburgh. The safety of our passengers is our top priority."
