Comic Book Made In Philadelphia Hits Shelves

By Justin Udo

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- There's a new comic book out on shelves that's made and produced right here in Philadelphia.

Blak Pulp is an independent comic book company that recently launched their first anthology.

It contains stories from various creators.

"Everything we do is a part of where we're from. It's gritty, it's real, it's visceral, but it's all about love and connecting people."

Brandon Williams is one of the owners of Blak Pulp. He says they plan on releasing new issues every other month and they'll be available at Amalgam Comics & Coffeehouse in Kensington.

"We have openings in Blak Pulp for any artist who would like to be a part of it. All you have to do is be able to tell a good story. If you can tell a story and draw it out, we're accepting people to join Blak Pulp."
