Disappointed But Proud, St. Joe's Fans Welcome Team Home

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The St. Joe's Hawks may have lost in the 2nd round of the NCAA Tournament, but fans welcoming the team home from Spokane Monday night were all smiles.

Hopes were high for the Hawks entering the start of March Madness.

"I think everybody at St. Joe's thought we were going to make a Sweet 16 run," says freshman Kyle Lochbihler.

But a Round of 32 loss to top-seeded Oregon left students like Kyle feeling disappointed:

"It was pretty hard to watch cause it looked like we had it."

The school pride could be felt, however, as dozens welcomed the team home with cheers and chants.

"Everyone's high-spirited, they had a great year and everyone around Hawk Hill is proud of them," says senior Hannah Dentino.

Freshman Domenick Godshall couldn't agree more:

"We still have a lot to be proud of. It was a really good season and we definitely kept it close with Oregon."

It was an exciting game Sunday night indeed, but the highlight of the season for many...

"Winning the A-10 Championship," Hannah said.

"The A-10 Championship for sure," adds Kyle.
