Positively Philadelphia: Creative Energy Equals Art

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Sometimes it seems that Philadelphia is turning into one big art gallery. From big buildings to small nooks and crannies, you can view and in many cases buy original artwork from Philadelphia artists, like Michael Yoder.

"There's a lot of people making really good work here," he says, "and also just sharing ideas and sharing that creative energy."

Yoder is one of the artists showing off his work at the Center for Emerging Video Artists exhibition at the Sonesta Hotel in Center City. Yoder was in New York, but came here and says Philadelphia is special.

"There's a lot of creative energy here. For every hundred thousand artists who live in New York, you don't have that level of creative energy," he says. "People here seem much more like doers. People in New York, they might make great work, but there wasn't that social creative energy that I feel like Philadelphia has."

Other artists participating in the Sonesta exhibition:

--Kelly Kozma
--Brienne Rosner
--Kristin Schattenfield-Rein
--Amy Stevens
