Woman, 24, Killed In Hit-And-Run In Delaware County

CHESTER, Pa. (CBS) -- Delaware County authorities are investigating a deadly hit-and-run in Chester.

A 24-year-old woman's body was found near W. 9th and Hayes Street around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Authorities say they arrived with paramedics to find the woman, from Boothwyn, unresponsive.

Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

Police describe the striking vehicle as a black Nissan Sedan, with heavy front-end damage, last seen heading eastbound on West 9th Street at a high rate of speed.

A vehicle fitting the description was found on the 2100 block of West 6th Street and was towed by city and county detectives who are now investigating the case.
