Carjacking Victim: "I Started Begging For My Life"

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --  A woman who was stopped at a gas station and carjacked spoke exclusively to CBS 3 Eyewitness News.

Police now think the suspects who targeted her also pulled off another crime nearby.

"I was just begging for my life."

This 29-year-old woman is still shaken, but thankful to be alive after a recent carjacking and robbery.

We're concealing her identity because not only did the suspects make off with her money, but also her identification.

"I started begging for my life once I left the pavement of that store. I knew there were no cameras. I thought, 'I'm dead.'"

The victim made a quick run to a gas station at 69th and Buist street on January 29th. It was just after 3am when she noticed the two men hanging around the store. She runs in, gets back to her car and surveillance video shows the two suspects hopping in to the front and back seat.

"He was hitting me in the back of the head with the gun. The other one was punching me. Boom, boom... 'where the money at?'"

The suspects seen clearly on video forced her to drive a block away before finally releasing her, but police say their robbery spree didn't stop there.

"A short time later, they see a man walking nearby at 70th and Elmwood, steal his wallet and phone before fleeing the scene," Lt. John Walker, of Philadelphia's Southwest Detectives, told Eyewitness News.

The victim shows us the car, still scarred by the memory of what happened inside.

"I don't even want to drive the car anymore. I still feel very unsafe."

Police are asking anyone who may have information to please contact them.
