Police: Teenager On Dirtbike In Critical Condition After Being Struck By An SUV
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia Police responded to a call regarding an auto accident in Strawberry Mansion on Thursday night. The incident took place just after 8:00 p.m. at Glenwood Avenue and Diamond Street and has left a teenage boy fighting for his life.
Police arrived on the scene and discovered a 17-year-old boy laying on the street beside a dirtbike.
Authorities say he suffered from head, face and upper body trauma.
The 17-year-old was transported to Hanhemann Hospital and was listed in extremely critical condition. Authorities say the teenager was operating the vehicle illegally on the street. Authorities say the boy was traveling north on the 2500 block of Glenwood Avenue when it was hit by a BMW SUV.
Authorities say the driver remained on the scene.
