Some South Jersey Drivers Test Their Luck On Snowy Roads

NEW JERSEY (CBS) -- With more than a foot of windblown snow on the roads, many drivers in South Jersey were sorry they ventured out.

At almost every turn, you could see drivers who thought they could make it through an unplowed driveway or intersection, but didn't. Matt Markelwith of Medford is trying to get around in more than a foot of snow.

"It's awful," driver Matt said. "It's slippery as anything. Luckily we have a truck. But if you don't have a truck I would not be out here."

Bill McCloskey has a landscape truck, and he's been playing Good Samaritan.

"If I can stop for ten minutes and lend a helping hand and get them where they've got to go safe, then that's what life is all about," McCloskey said.
