PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Having awakened to a four-week reign in first place, the Force is finally coming back down to earth.
The sci-fi sequel, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, already the domestic box-office champ of all time, fell to third place over the weekend, but still managed to add another estimated $25-million to its runaway total as it passed the $850-million mark.
Winning the weekend was the new comedy sequel, Ride Along 2, starring Kevin Hart and Ice Cube. It took in $34-million.
The runner-up was the Oscar-nomination leader, The Revenant, with just under $30-million.
And fourth place belonged to the military biodrama, 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, with John Krazinski. It totaled $16-million.
The weekend's other new mainstream attraction – the animated comedy, Norm of the North – earned $7-million, good for sixth place.
Overall, industry-wide totals were just slightly below those of last weekend.
