Ridley Creek Park Remains Not Those Of Missing Drexel Hill Woman

UPDATE (January 5, 2016) --  Pennsylvania State Police say dental records were compared and it was determined that Amanda DeGuio, a woman who has been missing for a year and a half from Delaware County, is not the woman who was recovered from Ridley Creek State Park on New Year's Day.

On Jan. 1, authorities say skeletal remains were found in Ridley Creek State Park in Edgemont Township, Delaware County.

MEDIA, Pa. (CBS) --  "All I know is that she is out there, she can come home. I think she's afraid."

A heartfelt plea from a grieving father, Jon De Guio has been clinging to his rosary beads and praying his daughter is out there and alive.

"She's not here for Christmas, her babies. She's a good mom and they love her so much," he told Eyewitness News.

25-year-old mother of two Amanda De Guio has been missing for a year and a half, last seen leaving her Drexel Hill home.

Amanda left in June of 2014 with her purse and an iPhone.

Police say with a history of addiction, they believe she was headed for the streets of Kensington and they no longer believe she's alive.

Over the weekend, a hiker found skeletal remains deep in the woods here at Ridley creek State Park. Police are looking into the possibility it could be Amanda.

"I don't think that's my baby. Something inside is telling me my baby is out there," Amanda's father said.

The remains were so badly decomposed police say it's thought to be a woman with a thin build, in her 20s.

Police have now asked the family for dental records.

Amanda's father hired private detective Kevin Ryan, who says there have been sightings of Amanda in the last 30 days.

"We're not looking for a body. We are still looking for Amanda," Ryan said.

He says there have been sightings of her in Kensington and they've made countless trips there to find her.

It may take days to know for sure if the remains belong to Amanda, but her father says all he has is hope and faith that his daughter is coming home.
