Mount Laurel Man Pleads Guilty In 26-Year-Old Wife's Death

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --  A Mount Laurel man has pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter, among other charges, in connection to his wife's death.

The Burlington County Prosecutor's Office says 29-year-old Kyle Crosby admitted today to fatally choking wife Erica Crippen in their home on New Year's Eve, 2014.

Crosby told the court after the killing, he removed the 26-year-old's body and transported it to Maryland.

Crippen's remains were found March 17 in Sykesville, a rural area of the state.

She was wrapped in a blanket and her hands and feet were tied with a cord that was also wrapped around her neck.

Prosecutors say her mouth and nose were taped shut with duct tape.

Crippen lived with Crosby and their 3-month-old daughter, as well as a 7-year-old daughter from a previous relationship.

Her disappearance was brought to the attention of police on January 7 after no one picked the older daughter up from school.

Authorities say Crosby will be sentenced to 28 years in state prison for the crimes.

As part of his plea agreement, hindering apprehension and tampering with evidence charges filed against Crosby's 68-year-old mother will be dismissed when he's sentenced.

He remains in Burlington County Jail on $1.2 million bail.
