Sixers' Jahlil Okafor And Isaiah Canaan Surprise Kids With Shopping Spree
KING OF PRUSSIA, P.A., (CBS) -- Jahlil Okafor and Isaiah Canaan of the Sixers were in the giving mood on Monday.
The pair surprised 20 local children from the YMCA of Greater Brandywine's Believe and Achieve program with a shopping spree and Dick's Sporting Goods on Monday.
The children thought they were just taking part in a store tour and a dinner, but little did they know that Okafor and Canaan were taking them to pick out some great items this holiday season.
The pair was on hand to surprise the kids and announce the shopping spree. Each child was given $200 to shop at the store.
The Believe and Achieve Foundation serves to help low and moderate income families. Children in the program visit the YMCA after school and receive homework help, healthy meals and interact with positive role models.
The 76ers, in conjunction with Dick's Sporting Goods and the YMCA, are taking the opportunity to make the holiday season a little brighter for these families in need.
