Bryan Altman, CBS Local Sports

As we make our way towards the end of the NFL season the excitement surrounding Super Bowl 50, taking place on Feb. 7, 2016 in San Francisco, is reaching a fever pitch. Teams are gearing up for a run through the playoffs to get to the coveted Super Bowl all the while CBS, the exclusive broadcaster of Super Bowl 50, is gearing up for unprecedented coverage of the event as well.

In the weeks leading up to the big game, each of CBS' renowned properties will be covering different aspects and angles of the biggest game in professional sports.

Whether it's "The NFL Today" crew counting down until kickoff on Super Bowl Sunday with a special edition show titled "The Super Bowl Today," or CBS Sports Digital's wall-to-wall coverage of everything football throughout the playoffs and Super Bowl Weekend, or CBS Sports Radio and CBS Local Sports' highly localized market-to-market coverage of every detail of the big event, CBS has the big game covered.

“We are looking forward to being the home of the biggest event in Super Bowl history, just as we were for the first Super Bowl 50 years ago,” said Leslie Moonves, President and CEO, CBS Corporation. “I know CBS Sports will do an outstanding job with the broadcast of the game, and we are putting the full weight of the Company behind everything surrounding the game as well. The entire experience will be a huge honor for CBS, and our coverage will provide some of the best television that viewers will see all year.”

After the game, the round-the-clock coverage continues, and that's including immediately after the Super Bowl ends. Stephen Colbert will host a special live edition of "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" immediately following Super Bowl 50 from the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City. This will mark the first time that a late night series has ever aired in the post-Super Bowl time slot.
