Temple Fans Remain Proud Despite Team's AAC Title Game Loss

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Temple Football faithful gathered all over the city Saturday to watch the Owls battle Houston for the AAC Championship.
Hundreds of students, alumni and just Temple fans set up shop in the Piazza in Northern Liberties wearing their finest cherry and white, hoping to see the Owls make some school history.
Despite a rough start, most fans like Temple Professor Bill Cook were still optimistic at the half:
"Temple has it in them," he told KYW Newsradio. "We'll see if we can pull it out in the 2nd half, but, I mean, we're getting our butt kicked. So we've gotta come back."
The Owls did make things interesting towards the end, but ultimately came up short.
"I was going into it with the mentality that we might be able to come back," freshman Ryan Frascella told CBS 3 Eyewitness News, "because they are known as a second half team this year, but it just wasn't there."
Even though they lost, many people like Ed from Roxborough were proud of what Temple showed all season:
"When I'm talking to other about people about Temple, why it's exciting - it's the first time they've been ranked in 36 years. That's unbelievable. It's fun. They're a fun team to watch."
And fans seem to agree, they're excited to see where the program goes from here, hoping Coach Matt Rhule is here to stay.
As far as this year goes, fans can still look forward to a bowl game.
