94WIP's Spike Eskin, Joe Conklin To Participate In 1st Annual Philly Polar Plunge

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- On Friday, December 4th, 2015 Philadelphia will host its first annual Philadelphia Polar Plunge.

Hosted by the Special Olympics Pennsylvania (SOPA), the plunge will take place outside of Drexel University's Fitness Plaza, behind the Recreation Center at 3301 Market Street.

Four plunges will take place during the day:

  • (10:00am - 12:00pm) The Cool Schools Plunge, for high schools participating in Special Olympics PA's Interscholastic Unified Sports
  • (12:00pm - 2:00pm ) Business Plunge for business executives
  • (5:00pm - 7:00pm) General Public plunge
  • (7:00pm - 9:00pm) University Plunge for individuals affiliated with a college or university

 

SportsRadio 94WIP's Programming Director and Afternoon Show co-host Spike Eskin will take the plunge around 11:00 a.m., during the Cool Schools Plunge. SportsRadio 94WIP's Morning Show contributor Joe Conklin will emcee from around 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., during the Business Plunge.

Plungers are asked to pledge a minimum of $50 and you can create a Plunge Team with a $500 pledge goal. All plungers will receive an official 2015 long sleeved Polar Plunge t-shirt, but can receive additional prizes based on larger pledges.

Participants are encouraged to take photos and use #PhillyPlunge and #Chilladelphia on Twitter, for a chance to appear on the live social media feed at the event.
