2 Teens Recovering After Northwest Philly Shooting

By Justin Finch

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A bullet-blasted Honda CRV is now a clue Philadelphia Police are collecting after a nearby shooting left two teens critically wounded Thursday night.

"I heard people coming outside, people talking, so I just looked out the window and seen all the cops and stuff."

About 11 p.m., came calls of shots fired on the 7900 block of Temple Road.

A neighbor recalls hearing at least five shots.

"I knew it was shooting, I knew it was that. I just didn't know it was that close."

Her 19-year-old neighbor managed to run home to his mother's house, where he collapsed from gunshots to his chest and stomach.

That teen was not the only young victim. Soon came word of another 19-year-old shot and found in a rear driveway off East Phil Ellena Street and Cheltenham Avenue.

Authorities say that victim was more than likely in the driver's seat of the vehicle when he was shot. After being shot, he drove about two blocks, where witnesses saw him pull into the driveway, get out of the vehicle and collapse.

Turns out that shot-up Honda was reported stolen in Chestnut Hill, so the wounded teen believed to have been driving could also face charges.

As the victims recover at Einstein, police are looking for two male suspects seen running south on Temple Road.
