Young Entrepreneurs Take Center Stage At Under 30 Summit In Philly

By Melony Roy

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Under 30 Summit is underway at the Philadelphia Convention Center.

Monday morning, Elizabeth Holmes received the Under 30 Doers Award. She is the youngest female billionaire and is changing the world with her blood testing company.

This year's conference is bigger than last year, with a growing number of young entrepreneurs, like Fishtown native Thomas Dickson.

"My app is called MEmory and it's called MEmory because it focuses on the individual," he explains. "It's actually a digital memory. I'm looking to create digital memory for everybody."

In 2010, Dickson was hit by a car and sustained a brain injury that caused memory loss. He used his Twitter account to help him remember parts of his life.

"I'm looking forward to connecting with a lot of individuals related to technology," he says, "related to rehabilitation. I'm looking forward to being challenged and surprised."
