Patrick Boyle of EisnerAmper is the partner-in-charge of the firm's Audit and Assurance Practice in Pennsylvania. Boyle has over 20 years of public accounting experience, and received his Bachelor's of Science from the School of Business Administration at La Salle University. EisnerAmper's services include accounting, consulting and tax services with a focus on entrepreneurs.
What is your educational background?
"I chose La Salle University for my accounting degree based on the strong accounting program they offer and the fact that it is where all of the top-tier accounting firms recruit employees, including EisnerAmper. From an educational standpoint, it's something that we continue throughout our firm because learning doesn't stop at the university level. We have EisnerAmper University, where we provide formal continuing education to all of our practice areas in addition to the on the job learning that occurs."
What is your background in management?
"Throughout my career I've had several management opportunities, starting with audit engagements, which then led to larger and more complex engagements including task forces and overseeing industry niches. Currently, I oversee all assurance services in my role as the head of our audit and assurance for our Philadelphia practice."
How has your education fueled your management success?
"My education has provided me with the tools and confidence to succeed at the management level. Every day I look to learn something from the people I work with, whether it's our clients, our staff or our administrative professionals. To me, management involves being open to learning and providing the input, guidance and support to continue to work together and learn from each other to achieve the common goal."
What advice would you give someone just starting out in your field?
"I would encourage anyone starting out to be open to new ideas and new ways of doing things. I would also encourage them to ask questions and be confident that they can contribute because they have a unique perspective based on their individual life experiences and what they've learned from an educational standpoint. They should look to utilize that individual perspective in everything they do."
