BUENA VISTA, N.J., (CBS) -- New Jersey State Police are asking for the public's help identifying skeletal remains found in a wooded area in Buena Vista Thursday morning.

Authorities say a hunter found the remains along with several personal items near Main Avenue and U.S. 40 around 10 a.m.

Among the items were a black baseball cap with "Puerto Rico" written on the brim along with the country's flag, a red windbreaker with "NYC Lifeguard, Dept of Parks" written on the back, and a green backpack containing a cell phone and prescription eyeglasses.

New Jersey State Police are asking anyone who may be able to identify the items to call the Buena Vista Station at 609-561-1800 ext 3355.
