PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – If you look at successful diets there is usually a common denominator. They stress the importance of regularly scheduled meals—especially a healthy breakfast.
Breakfast is a very important meal. It's certainly something that can get you a good start on the day, but the important thing is what type of breakfast should you eat? It should be balanced and it should be consistent with what you eat the rest of the day. Certainly fruit and grains are excellent choices and oatmeal or yogurt can add a healthy boost.
Be careful about sugar laden cereals and high fat options. The key is taking the time to relax and grab a health meal. Avoid eating on the run or grabbing a breakfast cake or a fast food meal whenever possible.
