Owls Fans On Cloud 9 After Team's Historic Win Over Penn State

By Andrew Kramer

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Temple football fans celebrated well into the night after their team beat Penn State at the Linc Saturday, the Owl's first victory over the Nittany Lions since 1941.

Fans who spoke with KYW Newsradio were nothing short of ecstatic:

"Temple deserved to win. Penn State didn't play as well as they should have. It was a great, historic win for us."

"I was just really excited to be there. Be part of the atmosphere."

"We were fired up, man. We didn't know what to do. We didn't expect to win, but it's awesome. We're celebrating all night!"

Temple scored 27 unanswered points en route to the victory, a win Bill says is more than just history:

"Honestly it's like our championship, because they're never going to win a real championship, so this is what you're hoping for."

Matu doesn't fully agree with that though:

"National Championships up next...that's all I gotta say."

But Chris, whose son attends Temple, knows the Owls can't get too far ahead of themselves after the win:

"Hopefully they'll take this in stride and it's another peg in that tree so let's keep going."

With another huge home game on tap next month against Notre Dame, however, Owls fans believe excitement will be even greater.
