Poll: Pa Voters Evenly Split On Whether AG Kane Should Stay In Office While Battling Criminal Charges

By Tony Romeo

HARRISBURG, Pa. (CBS) --- A new poll shows Pennsylvania voters are evenly split on whether Attorney General Kathleen Kane should continue to serve as she battles criminal charges stemming from alleged violations of grand jury secrecy.

The latest Franklin and Marshall College Poll shows 46% of Pennsylvania voters think Attorney General Kathleen Kane should resign, while almost as many, 43%, say she should continue to serve.

F&M Poll Director Terry Madonna believes many voters are willing to give Kane the benefit of the doubt for now.

"Voters aren't paying a lot of attention to the details of the situation with Kane," he says. "More of them who know about it say, 'OK, we think you should resign'."
