City Officials Unveil New Campaigns Promoting Enthusiasm For Papal Visit

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- City officials unveiled a new campaign at a press conference on Wednesday titled "I'll Be There," which they say aims to energize and excite residents and businesses for the upcoming World Meeting of Families and Papal visit.

World Meeting of Families officials say they are also planning the "Francis Festival," which they say is fun and welcoming experience for the anticipated crowds planning to attend the events.

Additionally, officials say 40 jumbotrons will be strategically placed across the Francis Festival grounds. The locations have not yet been announced.

The Francis Festival will be open on Saturday, September 26 from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. and again on Sunday, September 27 from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Starting on August 31, officials will begin distributing #OpenInPHL kits to businesses across the city. The kits will include signage, a window cling, branded buttons, business resources and additional information about how businesses can get involved and engage visitors during the Papal events.

#OpenInPHL kits will also be available at 30th Street Station, African-American Chamber of Commerce, Greater Philadelphia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Independence Visitor Center, Philadelphia International Airport, Pennsylvania Convention Center and Reading Terminal Market.

Mayor Nutter also announced at the news conference that the Reading Terminal Market will remain open during the Papal visit next month.

The World Meeting of Families also plans to launch a new transportation web page on August 31. Officials say it will help guide those traveling to the Francis Festival.
