PHOENIXVILLE, Pa. (CBS) -- Summer getaways capped off with a water view at a lively deck bar leave indelible memories. KYW's Newsradio's Jay Lloyd recalls a few of his favorites.
Day trips, shore shenanigans or bay boating can all end at an eye-filling deck bar and a water reflected sunset. A day of kayaking on the Schuylkill Canal outside Phoenixville is enhanced with drinks and nibbles on deck at Fitzwater Station, although owner John Pearson says the place was poorly named.
"We found out later that Mr. Fitzwater was a teetotaler and didn't believe in alcohol," he says.
Switch to the shore and the Harbor View deck bar on Ocean drive outside Cape May. A spectacular back bay view, fresh raw bar treats and a sushi menu that keeps growing.
If the Chesapeake is your go-to getaway, steer a course to Rock Hall, Maryland and Waterman's Crab House or Harbor Shack.
