Sixers 2015-16 Schedule Unveiled: Games To Watch Out For

By Ray Boyd

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Sixers 2015-16 schedule was announced on Wednesday night. The Sixers may not be in the spotlight very often, but there are a couple of games with interesting story-lines to look forward to.

The Sixers open the season against the Celtics in Boston on October, 28. Their home schedule kicks off on October, 30 against the Jazz.

Some highlights from the Sixers home schedule includes a date with LeBron James and the defending Eastern Conference Champion Cavaliers on November, 2. King James and the Cavs will also visit Philadelphia on January 10th.

The Sixers will host D'Angelo Russell, Kobe Bryant and the Lakers on December, 1. The match up will carry two story-lines as the Lower Merion product, Bryant, plays what could be his final game in Philadelphia.

It will also pit D'Angelo Russell and Jahlil Okafor, the second and third picks in the 2015 NBA Draft, against each other for the first time.

Okafor will then have the opportunity to go head-to-head with the first overall pick in the draft, T'Wolves big man Karl-Anthony Towns. That game will take place on January, 4 and could very well be a battle of Rookie of the Year candidates.

On January 30, the reigning Champion Golden State Warriors come to Philadelphia for their lone visit.

The Clippers will bring Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan to town on February, 8 to match up with Nerlens Noel and Okafor.

On February, 10 the Kings come to Philadelphia which will give Nik Stauskas a look at the team that traded him to the Sixers after not giving him many opportunities in his rookie season.

Kevin Durant and the Thunder make their lone trip to Philadelphia on March, 18.
