Man Shot, Killed Outside North Philly Home

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police say an 18-year-old man is dead after he was shot twice early Friday morning in North Philadelphia.

This happened just after midnight on the 1900 block of North Croskey Street.

Police say the victim was shot once in the chest and abdomen. After the shooting, his family reportedly brought him inside their home. He was then taken to Temple Hospital in critical condition and was later pronounced dead.

Based on witness information, the shooter is described as a female, 18 to 20 years old, wearing blue jeans, last seen heading North on foot on Croskey Street . Witnesses tell police that woman got into a fight with other women earlier on. They say she later returned to the scene, which is when the shots were fired.

"The only ballistic evidence we have is one projectile that is on the sidewalk in front of the victim's house where he was shot," says Chief Inspector Scott Small.

The victim's identity has not yet been released.

Homicide detectives are investigating.
