Millennials Sought In Contest To Cover Upcoming Papal Visit

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- In hopes of connecting millennials and the Church, a Christian organization has sponsored a contest to recruit digital street team members to cover the upcoming Papal visit.

Select millennials will get a once-in-a-lifetime chance to cover the Papal visit in September.

Haddonfield, New Jersey native Kathleen Hessert, the founder of a North Carolina based communications firm Sports Media Challenge, enlisted to recruit 27 Philadelphia-area millennial for a the @PopeisHope digital street team.

"We're looking for people who are passionate about social justice, faith and changing the world. Number two, that they're social media savvy. We're not asking for professionals, we're looking for millennial who can tell a story."

To enter, you must be between the ages of 18 and 35 and submit messages, photos, and videos through a social network (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Vine, Pinterest or Tumblr) that includes an @PopeIsHope tag and the hashtag #GoodIsWinning.

"This is the beginning of a movement. It's identifying people with are doing good things within their community and beyond to make a difference."

Along with the selected 27 local millennials, three additional winners from around the country will also be chosen for a paid trip to Philadelphia to be apart of the digital street team.

The contest is sponsored by Catholic organizations, Aleteia and the Magnificat Foundation and runs through August 7th.
