Study Shows Wawa Is America's Favorite Convenience Store

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A trip to Wawa is something that is a common shared experience for many people in the Philadelphia region. The quality that many consumers in the area enjoy, has resonated on the national stage.

A new study shows that Wawa is America's best convenience store.

The study was conducted by Market Force InformationIt analyzed gas stations, convenience stores, grocery stores and big box retailers based on where customers most enjoyed going to fill up their gas tank.

Wawa took the top spot in the Gas Station/Convenience Store category edging out QuikTrip and Sheetz.

The study determined a Composite Loyalty Score based on customers responses to their satisfaction with the most recent visit and their likelihood to refer the establishment to someone else.

Wawa posted a Composite Loyalty Score of 68 percent compared to a score of 62 percent for QuikTrip and 59 percent for Sheetz.

The study also compared the stores on several individual attributes. Wawa took the top spot in Entry/Exit category, the Fresh Food category, the Good Coffee category (tied w/ Sheetz) and the Brand Reputation category.

Wawa was second in Fuel Quality, Appearance, Service and Fuel Price.
