Phillies Return From Break Tonight Against Miami

By Matt Leon

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- After the four-day MLB All-Star Break, the Phillies return to the diamond tonight opening a weekend series at Citizens Bank Park against the Miami Marlins.

Adam Morgan will get the start on the mound tonight, but the focus of fans right now is on the starting pitcher for the Phillies on Tuesday night.  The team announced today that 2014 first-round draft pick Aaron Nola will make his Major League debut that night, getting the start against the Tampa Bay Rays. Nola has gone 10-4 this season with a 2.39, splitting his time between Double-A Reading and Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Back to Morgan, this will be his fourth MLB start this season for the Phillies. The rookie left-hander has gone 1-2 in the first three with a 4.32 ERA.  Morgan's last start came on July 8th when he allowed five runs in four innings against the Dodgers, taking a 5-0 loss.

The Marlins will give the ball to right-hander Jose Fernandez.  One of the most exciting young pitchers in baseball, Fernandez has made two starts since returning from Tommy John surgery. In those two starts he has gone 2-0 with a 2.08 ERA.

Fernandez has made four career starts against the Phillies, going 1-1 with a 2.86 ERA.

Here is the lineup for the Phillies against Fernandez:

1. Ben Revere  CF
2. Cesar Hernandez 2B
3. Maikel Franco 3B
4. Ryan Howard 1B
5. Cody Asche LF
6. Freddy Galvis SS
7. Domonic Brown RF
8. Cameron Rupp C
9. Adam Morgan P

KYW's Matt Leon spoke with Jake Kaplan of the Philadelphia Inquirer about the call-up of Nola and what to look for out of the Phillies the rest of the season.
