Special Regional Rail Tickets For Pope's Visit To Go On Sale Monday

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- SEPTA is temporarily putting the brakes on Wednesday's scheduled sale of special Regional Rail tickets for Pope Francis's visit.
Originally scheduled for this week, now SEPTA will begin selling $10 Regional Rail tickets for the Pope's visit on Monday July 20 at 9 a.m. online only. SEPTA has made some changes to the rail schedule as well: Inbound service will run during two timed sessions, between 5:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., then from 8:30 until noon both Saturday and Sunday, September 26 and 27.
"When they purchase their tickets, they will have to purchase those tickets for those stations at those time slots," SEPTA Spokeswoman Gerri Williams explains.
Also, the Cornwells Heights station will only be open during the early time slot, and Croydon only open from 8:30 until noon. The Regional Rails will drop off passengers at Jefferson Station, 30th Street or University City, depending on where riders board.
Regional Rail ticket sales will be limited to 180,000 per day. SEPTA will also be selling a three-day transit pass, for buses, subways and trolleys.
