Officials Investigate Alleged Shark Sighting Off Margate Beach
MARGATE, NJ (CBS) – Officials are investigating a potential shark sighting off the shore of a popular New Jersey beach.
Around 1 p.m., Margate City beach patrol officers received a call about a possible shark fin sighting in the area.
Lifeguards were dispatched off of Gladstane Avenue Beach, where swimmers were evacuated from the water immediately.
While no evidence of a shark was found, beach patrol did confirm there were feeding fish in the vicinity.
The report comes as several shark attacks in North Carolina made the news.
