Country's 'Most Beautiful Female Trucker' Hails From Pennsylvania
MIDDLETOWN, Pa. (CBS) – A trucking magazine has named a Pennsylvania woman the most beautiful female trucker.
Overdrive Magazine awarded Joanne Fatta, of Middletown, the title.
Fatta beat out 86 other truck drivers. She's a single mom and a breast cancer survivor who has been in the trucking business for 15 years.
Fatta says it was a struggle in the beginning.
"It's just something that you have to do a little bit differently than the men do, and handle yourself differently," Fatta explains. "But it's amazing how you're accepted then after awhile."
According to the magazine, just seven percent of America's three million professional truck drivers are women.
"I'm representing all of the people that have supported me and the town, so that's really neat," Fatta says.
