What Happened To World's Largest Rubber Duck At Tall Ships Festival?

By Diana Rocco

CAMDEN, NJ (CBS) – If you're headed out to the Tall Ships Festival on the waterfront on Friday, you may find something is missing.

The world's largest rubber duck isn't there.

Eyewitness News has learned there was a problem with the rubber duck during the parade of ships on Thursday.

The pontoon the duck came in on took on some water, and it turns out there were lots of holes in "Mama Duck," and that is why she was sitting lopsided.

Eyewitness News is told all is not lost, Rocky the baby duck is at Wiggins Park where kids can take pictures with him.

Event organizers say, "We brought the duck to the shore and when we were taking out the pontoon boat we discovered the duck had some ducky bruises, some rips and tears. We are in the process of repairing the duck. She is in the water and we hope to have her up soon."

Organizers say monitor the Tall Ships Facebook page for updates on Mama Duck, but she should be back up by at least the end of the weekend.

The fireworks on the Delaware River have also been postponed until Sunday night.
