Top 5 Rated Eagles' Players

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Pro Football Focus grades every player, on every play, from every game.

"We look beyond the box score and study the tape to grade how well each player performs on each play, and as a result over the course of a game and a season," the website says.

On Wednesday, PFF released their annual NFL roster rankings list and the Eagles came in at sixth best. Furthermore, PFF listed the top-five ranked players for each team.

Here are PFF's top-five ranked Eagles' players, in no particular order.

Jason Peters

Peters, 33, is one of the best left tackles in football. The seven-time Pro Bowler is entering his seventh season as an Eagle, anchoring the offensive line.

Evan Mathis

Peters' fellow o-line cohort is Mathis. Mathis, 33, a two-time Pro Bowl left guard enters his fifth season as Eagle---well, we hope. Mathis and the Eagles are amid a contract dispute, in which Mathis wants more money after a reported raise offered to Mathis from ex-GM Howie Roseman was taken off the table.

Most expect Mathis, who has been absent during the team's optional spring activities, to report once things become mandatory.

DeMarco Murray

Murray, 27, was signed by the Eagles this offseason to a five-year deal worth $40 million ($21 million guaranteed) after leading the NFL with 1,845 rushing yards as a Dallas Cowboy last season.

Fletcher Cox

Cox, 24, is arguably the most exciting ascending Eagle, as he begins to hit his prime. Entering his fourth season in Philly, the Eagles' defensive end is widely regarded as one of the most impactful defensive lineman in football, poised to have a monster 2015 season.

Brandon Graham

Graham, 27, was the Eagles' 13th overall pick in 2010. While Graham saw limited playing time during his first five seasons as an Eagle, PFF consistently had high marks for Graham, who sort of broke out in 2014 with five and a half sacks, four forced fumbles, and nine stuffs as a non-starter.

After releasing veteran linebacker Trent Cole, the Eagles re-signed Graham to a four-year deal. Graham, now expected to be a starting outside linebacker for the first time in his career, is ready to explode. In fact, Eagles coach Chip Kelly said Graham is in the best shape of his life, and might be the strongest player on the team.
