Tall Ships 2015: Sagres
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Sagres is a sister ship to the Coast Guard Barque Eagle which was taken as war reparations from Germany. Now, she sails as the training vessel for the Portuguese Navy.
Look for her cadets to stand in formation on the yardarms, high above the deck. John Brady, President of the Independence Seaport Museum explained how.
"The entire rig is designed to climb," Brady said. "It is a spectacular monkey bars."
The vessel is also a dramatic visual experience.
The Tall Ships Festival will take place on the Delaware River between Philadelphia and Camden from June 25-28.
