By Ray Boyd

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Sixers offered a sneak peek of their new uniforms on Monday. The team also announced some details of the official reveal which will take place on June 18 at an event open to the public.

The Sixers have used the hashtag #MadeInPHILA to promote the jerseys and the sneak peek shows that PHILA will be prominently featured.

Nerlens Noel gave us a glimpse of the uniform at the NBA Draft lottery, but we see a bit more detail in the sneak peek above.

The Sixers will hold an event to unveil the jerseys on June 18 at the Wells Fargo Center beginning at 7 p.m. All fans will be admitted to the event for free.

"In creating a new uniform, we wanted a clean, modern style that would also honor our past," said Sixers Chief Executive Officer Scott O'Neil in a statement on Monday. "These designs integrate key elements of uniforms worn by legends Wilt Chamberlain, Julius Erving and Billy Cunningham, and bring them together in one seamless presentation. The uniform reflects another key element of our updated brand identity reflecting a spirit of strength and patriotism which we cannot wait to share with our fans."

Several Sixers legends will be on hand for the unveil including Billy Cunningham, Darryl Dawkins, Moses Malone, Bobby Jones and Allen Iverson. Barbara Chamberlain-Lewis, the sister of Wilt Chamberlain, will also be in attendance.

Current members of the team and coaching staff will also be on hand.

Chamberlain-Lewis, Cunningham and Julius Erving all released statements on the uniforms which honor three eras of Sixers jerseys - Cunningham's, Erving's and that of Chamberlain-Lewis' brother.

Julius "Dr. J" Erving: "When I joined the Sixers in 1976, we were the marquee team in the league, the one fans around the league wanted to see in person. It's great seeing this new generation of Sixers come together, and I hope they will be as inspired and proud to wear this new uniform – which shares elements from my first year as well as the '83 championship team – as I was during my time in the wonderful city of Philadelphia."

Billy Cunningham: "These will be special uniforms that honor three specific time periods in Sixers history.  As someone who helped design the 76-77 uniforms, I am excited that there will be hallmark elements from that era incorporated in the 2015 uniforms.  Fans will love how they pay homage to the past while celebrating a new era of Sixers basketball."

Barbara Chamberlain-Lewis: "It's been amazing to see my brother Wilt's legacy carry on throughout the years, and our family is excited that the Sixers are honoring Wilt and his beloved teammates from the 1967 Championship team by incorporating the jerseys they wore into this new design."
