President Obama To Deliver Eulogy At Beau Biden's Funeral

WILMINGTON, Del. (CBS) -- According to the Office of Vice President Joe Biden, later this week there will be services open to the public to honor the life of Beau Biden.

Biden's office says on Thursday, Beau will lie in honor at Legislative Hall in Dover, Delaware between 1:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m.

On Friday, there will be a viewing at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church in Wilmington, Delaware between 1-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m.

On Saturday at 10:30 a.m., Biden's office says there will be a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church in Wilmington, Delaware.

President Barack Obama will deliver a eulogy in honor of Beau at the mass.

Officials say Beau will be buried at Saint Joseph on the Brandywine Cemetery alongside his mother, sister and grandparents.

Forty-six-year-old Beau Biden, the former Attorney General of Delaware and son of Vice President Joe Biden, died on Saturday from brain cancer.

He leaves behind a wife and two children.

Biden's widow, Hallie, announced today the creation of the Beau Biden Foundation for the Protection of Children.

The Office of Delaware Governor Jack Markell issued the following statement regarding the planned services to honor the life of Beau Biden:

 "President Pro Tempore Patti Blevins, Speaker of the House Pete Schwartzkopf, Senate Minority Leader Gary Simpson, House Minority Leader Danny Short and Governor Jack Markell earlier this week offered to Hallie Biden and the greater Biden family to have the Attorney General lie in honor at Legislative Hall on the afternoon of Thursday, June 4th. While further details will be forthcoming, the Legislative Hall ceremony will allow the General Assembly, other government officials, and the Biden family's many friends the opportunity to pay their respects."
