WEATHER: A Nice Weekend Followed By A Cool Start To June

By Geoff Bansen

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- As we approach the end of May, Friday will be yet another day above average. The difference from the previous few days will not only be a slight drop in the thermometer itself, but also a slight drop in humidity. There will also be less cloud cover, making Friday a rather nice day.

Saturday stays dry as well, with a mix of clouds and sun. The temperatures and humidity levels revert back to what they've been like for most of the week, making it a steamy day across much of the Delaware Valley. It will be a great beach to head down to the shore.

Two things to keep in mind, though: the UV index will be high, so sunscreen is a must, and water temperatures are still cold! Upper 50s and low 60s can still cause varying degrees of hypothermia, so even if you only plan on taking a quick dip, please use caution.

A slow moving cold front will bring some much needed rain to the region later Sunday into Monday, and will also cool things down big time. Temperatures will likely only reach the mid to upper 60s on Monday, starting off the month of June 10-15° below average.
