Dictionary Adds 1,700 New Words, Including 'Emoji' And 'Photobomb'

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Merriam-Webster is adding 1,700 new words to its dictionary.

Many of the new entries reflect global language trends that are increasingly leaning towards digital, while others reflect trends in food and fashion.

Still others are just slang. For example, "WTF" is one of the words.

There's also "emoji," for the little pictures you put in texts and emails, and "photobomb," for when a person jumps into the background of someone else's photo.

"Jeggings" and "NSFW" are two more examples of the 2015 additions.
