PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- The Philadelphia Eagles have named Dwayne Joseph director of pro personnel, the team announced on Wednesday afternoon.

Joseph, 42, comes to the Eagles from the Chicago Bears, where he spent the last two seasons (2013-14) as the club's associate director of pro personnel after joining Chicago's front office in 2012 as the assistant director of pro scouting.

Prior to his most recent stint with the Bears, Joseph worked as a pro scout for the Miami Dolphins from 2004-06 and from 2008-2011. In 2007, he served as the Dolphins' assistant director of pro personnel.

Joseph was a four-year letterman (1990-93) at Syracuse and served as a team captain his senior year. He then signed with the Bears as a rookie free agent cornerback in 1994 and went on to play in 16 career games with one start, recording 42 tackles and two interceptions.

In 1998, following his playing career, Joseph was hired by the Bears as coordinator of player programs. In 2001 he was promoted to director of player development and held that position through the 2003 season.

Joseph earned a degree in human development as an undergrad at Syracuse and went on to earn a master's degree in education leadership from DePaul University.

Joseph began his NFL career as a cornerback for the Chicago Bears, appearing in 16 games, starting one, in the 1995 season. After his playing career, Joseph earned his master's degree in education leadership from DePaul University. He previously earned his undergraduate degree from Syracuse in human development.

Joseph joined the Bears football operations department in 1998, spending three seasons as coordinator of player programs and then three years as diretor of player development. From there, Joseph spent eight years (2004-2011) with the Miami Dolphins, serving primarily as a pro scout.

Joseph then rejoined the Bears in 2012 as assistant director of pro scouting before he was promoted to his most recent title.

A native of Miami, Joseph is married with two sons.
